Day to Day and Regular Maintenance
Day-to-day maintenance of wood flooring is simple and straightforward. Using a vacuum cleaner with a brush head attachment should be sufficient for most light cleaning and dusting. Do not use plastic vacuum head point directly against the floor or use any cleaning tools with sharp and hard surfaces, because the constant friction between the object and the board can cause light scratches and increase the wear of the veneer. If the flooring has stains, a dampen mop would usually do the job. To keep your wood flooring in a healthy condition, we suggest always wipe away any liquid spills immediately, use floor protector pads on furniture, and periodically clear the flooring by using a microfibre mop with professional wooden floor cleaner.
Deep Clean and Polishing
A deep, thorough cleaning is recommended every 3 or 4 months. By that, it is no longer just about wiping off any surface dirt or stain on the floors, but to create a plan about giving the flooring a proper polish to rejuvenate the natural shine of the wood, with consideration to add needed protection for its service for the next circle. We recommend using professional wood flooring detergent such as our Q Care to protect and bring it back to its natural beauty. If you have purchased our Q Care product when you acquired the floor and need a top-up, please head over to our shop listed at the bottom of this page.
Hardwax Coating
The frequency with which you reapply hard wax oil to your wooden flooring varies, as it depends on the amount of traffic the room receives and few other factors such as room temperature and moisture content. We highly recommend creating a maintenance schedule with your fitter after knowing the details of your property and your intended usage. For reference, the common cycle is between 12 to 24 months in most domestic environments. If you want more information, please see our Q Care range of products and hard wax oil below.
